We are two Occupational Therapists who work within the NHS and love what we do but also know that 'real life' happens beyond the hospital.
Our aim is to engage with people through a range of group and individual activities including community gardening groups, bespoke therapy workshops, social connections, Dementia Care Mapping and tailor made therapy programmes. Supporting people to grow and thrive in their local communities.
Additionally we work with and alongside Care Homes introducing a theraputic approach and staff training ensuring that teams feel ready and confident to care.

Wendy Cruse
Occupational Therapist
Wendy has worked within the NHS and in private practice since 2008 working creatively with people supporting physical and mental health wellbeing. Enabling people through a range of activites promoting a person centred approach. Currently working as a practitioner within the acute therapy team whilst creating wellbeing through social and horticultural community garden therapy.
Jessica Peterson
Occupational Therapist
Jessica has worked within the NHS and in private practice since 2005 with a focus on holistic care and inclusion supporting phsical and mental health for everyone. Currently a Specialist Parctictioner in the Dementia Team whilst creating wellbing through community garden and therpeutic horticulture.
Sahra Carter
Art Teacher
Sahra is a talented creative who works in education supporting students to access their own artist skills through exporation. Sahra offers a wealth of knowledge and guidence to the team.
Our Services
We work therapeutically with both adults and children to offer the most appropriate and beneficial services to enhance wellbeing for people living with physical and mental health conditions, learning difficulties.

Social Connections: We facilitate meaningful social interactions that combat isolation and build strong support networks, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
Dementia Care Mapping: Our specialised programs support individuals with dementia and their families, offering compassionate care and innovative techniques to enhance quality of life.
Tailor-Made Therapy Programs: Our personalised therapy programs are designed to address specific needs and goals, ensuring each person receives the attention and care they deserve.
Community Gardens
We are currently based in:
Charlton Shopping Centre Dover Community Garden - Mondays 10am - 12pm
Community Gardening Groups: Join our gardening groups to cultivate not just plants, but friendships and community spirit. These groups provide a serene environment for relaxation, learning, and connecting with others who share a passion for nature.
Care Homes
In addition to our community-focused initiatives, The Sage Network partners with care homes to introduce therapeutic approaches and provide staff training. Our goal is to ensure that care teams feel prepared and confident in delivering exceptional care. We offer:
- Therapeutic Approaches: Our evidence-based techniques enhance the well-being of residents and create a nurturing environment that promotes healing and comfort.
- Staff Training: We equip care teams with the skills and knowledge they need to provide compassionate, effective care. Our training programs focus on building confidence and competence in caregiving.
